Community Cloud

A cloud that you control

What

Cloud computing has revolutionized how people all over the world interact with web services. It's easier than ever to setup a web service and have it accessible to the world. However, this capability has come with unforseen costs and complexity. Data centers are efficient, but they're expensive to build and run. They consolidate services geographically which makes it difficult to serve customers in far flung locations. Perhaps more than anything, it makes it almost impossible to have visibilty or control of what exactly is happening when you run a web service.

Community Cloud solves these problems by creating a distributed cloud which runs as close as possible to end users. By placing modern hardware in points of presence, businesses, and homes services can be run that are fast, secure, and private.

How

Community Cloud allows computing networks to be created using the Wireguard VPN technology. Behind the scenes, a service mesh coupled together with a distributed database allows service requests to be routed within this network. The bottom line, engineers can use familiar tools and technologies that are performant, secure, and easy to scale.

Features

(Bare) Metal

Community Cloud is designed from the ground up to be used on bare metal hardware.

Distributed

Disparate locations can be easily combined together to form a single virtual Kubernetnes cluster.

Painless Install

Have a working Kubernetnes cluster ready in minutes. The Community Cloud installer makes setup a breeze.

DevOps Supercharged

Out of the box integration with Gitlab make deployment, operations, and monitoring dead simple.

Status

Community Cloud is currently in private beta and looking for testers, early adopters, and those interested in the potential of this technology. Want to learn more? Then apply to join our community!
